Celtic Fest: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Last weekend's Celtic Fest (actually called the Highland games or some such nonsense) was a blast. We got great weather and, therefore, a great turnout. Much of Richmond decided to go out and enjoy the weather while watching dog shows, ax throwing contests and large men throwing huge objects (sand bags, cabers, etc.). The real show is actually the other guests. Each year more and more people show up in kilts. The average kilt wearer is extremely comfortable with his sexuality but many, more than you would expect, of these gentlemen seem to enjoy wearing the Scottish dress with their ample guts hanging over them. While not a fashion choice for the squeamish...it makes for a people watching playground. Check it out:

Part of the reason we love the fest so much is the daily parade of pups. Dog owners love events where they can bring they dogs out and this happens to be one of the biggest such event in Richmond each year:
