I May Not Be Hip Hop But...

Its nice when you get a chance to do something new as a photographer. When the opportunity to shoot Keith Sutton's Dance Crew presented itself I jumped at it. They were looking for some edgy but fun pics of the group for promotional materials. Given that I didn't have much time to arrange the shoot with the group, we decided to do it in their dance studio on a practice night and just hope for the best. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out...

Pain, Boredom, and Hydrocodone

So I'm officially over the pain caused by this surgery. People around me are over it too since they are tired of my whining!! So, today while I attempted to act like I was completely fine despite the pain, I decided to get a little creative with my new 105mm Macro lens. Sure, some of it is creepy, but deal with it. That's art, no?

Celtic Fest: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Last weekend's Celtic Fest (actually called the Highland games or some such nonsense) was a blast. We got great weather and, therefore, a great turnout. Much of Richmond decided to go out and enjoy the weather while watching dog shows, ax throwing contests and large men throwing huge objects (sand bags, cabers, etc.). The real show is actually the other guests. Each year more and more people show up in kilts. The average kilt wearer is extremely comfortable with his sexuality but many, more than you would expect, of these gentlemen seem to enjoy wearing the Scottish dress with their ample guts hanging over them. While not a fashion choice for the squeamish...it makes for a people watching playground. Check it out:

Not a Kilt but an honorable mention anyway:

Part of the reason we love the fest so much is the daily parade of pups. Dog owners love events where they can bring they dogs out and this happens to be one of the biggest such event in Richmond each year:
